Health Power Infrared Training Apparel for Powerlifting: +6% Power, Backed by Study

Powerlifters obsess over the controllable variables — bar path, warm-up sets, sleep, nutrition. What they train in is usually an afterthought. It shouldn't be. ACCAPI ran a controlled study on that exact question, and the results are specific enough to actually matter to a lifter.

The study: 200 athletes, one month, three tests

ACCAPI recruited 200 athletes aged 25 to 50 across mixed disciplines and put them through three structured sessions a week for one month, training in Health Power infrared garments throughout. Performance was measured against baseline on three tests: bench press and lat machine for maximum strength and power output, and the Cooper Test for aerobic endurance.

After one month:

  • +6% maximum power — measured via push/pull strength tests
  • +9% faster recovery during activity — increased capacity to sustain high-intensity work
  • +11% more endurance — measured by 12-minute Cooper Test distance

The gains were attributed to improved capillarization and muscle metabolism, driven by the technologies built into every Health Power garment.

What's actually doing the work

FIR infrared fiber. Health Power fiber absorbs the body's own thermal energy and reflects it back as Far Infrared radiation between 5 and 20 microns — a continuous process that supports blood circulation and muscle oxygenation during training.

AEC compression. Beyond standard compression's effect on blood flow and venous return, AEC reduces muscle oscillation — the vibration that happens every time a working muscle loads under a bar. Less oscillation means less energy wasted and less soreness after a heavy session.

Dual-layer moisture management. A wicking inner layer paired with a dispersing outer layer keeps core temperature down through long training sessions, which matters directly for perceived effort on your last few sets.

Where it applies to lifting specifically

The +6% power figure came from push/pull strength testing — directly relevant to bench and pressing movements. The reduced muscle oscillation from AEC is most noticeable on heavy compound lifts, where bracing and stability under load matter as much as raw output. And the faster recovery-during-activity number is what shows up between heavy sets, not just after the session ends.

FAQ

Does infrared training apparel actually increase strength?

ACCAPI's own study measured a 6% increase in maximum power output over one month of training in Health Power garments, tested via bench press and lat machine push/pull strength tests on 200 athletes.

Is the Health Power line compression gear?

It combines AEC compression with FIR infrared fiber and dual-layer moisture management — it's built for training specifically, not general everyday compression wear.

Should I wear it during training or after?

Health Power is built for training sessions. For after-training recovery, PRO Recovery Tights are the dedicated product — including being comfortable enough to sleep in.
